Margilan is a city in Fergana valley of Uzbekistan which is also known as silk capital of Uzbekistan. Every time I visit this place I am deeply touched with Margilani people's hospitality, kindness and generousity in spite of the fact that they live very simple and humble lives. Just like people, this adras is simple yet it radiates hope and cheer.
This is a hand dyed and hand woven ikat adras (cotton/silk blend fabric). Ikat is a technique of weaving that requires a great amount of precision of tying and dyeing silk yarn in order to achieve a desired pattern.
Width of the fabric is 11“ (28 cm)
Please note that by clicking “Add to Cart“ button, you are adding 1 meter of the fabric to your shopping cart. If you want to buy more than 1 meter please change the quantity in the review of the shopping cart. The “Quantity “ pull down botton will show the total number of meters available for sale.
