It is only in the 20th century the golden and silver thread embroidered items became available to people outside of royal court.

Products embroidered with silver threads are very festive. In Uzbekistan, they are usually worn for special occasions such as weddings. These slippers are entirely hand made and hand embroidered.

The decorative boxes made great gifts. They're well made, with unbelievably intricate hand painting. I purchased some of the smaller ones, which were well suited for purely decorative purposes, or for storing small items such as rings and earrings.
